Fall 2013 AYSO begins September 7. Season Information - PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END!

WHAT TEAM MY CHILD IS ON?

As of August 31, you may go to BrooklynAYSO.net/inleague and log on to your family profile.

If you find that your child has not been assigned to a team, please contact the division coordinator.Check the CONTACTS page for your Division Coordinator's name and contact information.

Otherwise, click on your team roster and print it.

Note your team number and your coach's name.

Click on the medical form, which can be found under your family profile at BrooklynAYSO.net/inleague, and the Kids Zone pledge. Print, sign and give both of these to your coach, who will bring them to all games and practices.

WHEN ARE MY TEAM'S GAMES?

Check the SCHEDULES page. We also now have a Calendar, where we will post information about game days and courses.

WHERE DO WE PLAY?

U6-U14 will play at the Parade Ground. C19 and G19 will play at Brooklyn Bridge Park. As of early next week, the field map will be posted. Check the FIELDS page, and print a copy of the field map. Be sure to check the legend on our map for your division.

FIELD set up and GOALS-PARADE GROUND

All Parade Ground fields start at 8:00am and end at 4:00pm. Parents of first game of the day (not coaches) should get the equipment between 7:00 and 7:30 and set up the goals to start at 8:00. Fields that require take down must be done at 4:00.

All games must start and end on time. If your game starts late it still must end on time. No exceptions. Sand bags must be placed on the bottom flat connecting bar at the back of the goal, perpendicular to the bottom bar, not straddling it. Too many times bags are put on the net or the front of the bar. Make sure to secure the goal properly.

U6 Has three fields -1/2 A and 5/6 A & C. All three fields have 8 games from 8-4 (16 teams). All games start on the hour. Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game and take them down and return to field house after last game (4:00). The goals must be secured with sand bags.

U7 & U8 have 5 fields between coed and girls. U7 & U8 girls have 18 teams. U7G has 6 teams (3 games) on field 4C. U8G has 12 teams. (6 games) on field 4D. U7 & U8 coed have 62 teams. U7C has 32 teams. (16 games) 8 games from 8-4 on fields 4A & 4B. U8C has 30 teams. (15 games) 8 games on field 1/2B (which can be made a little larger that the fields on 4), 5 games on 4C and 2 games on 4D. On field 4, Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game (8:00 game) and take them down and return to locker on field after last game(4:00). On field 1/2, Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game and take them down and return to field house after last game (4:00). The goals will be secured with sand bags.

U10 has 4 fields. Coed has 10A & B. Girls has field 7B. Coed and girls share field 5/6B. U10C has 36 teams. Fields 10A & 10B, have 14 teams each (7 games) (8-3 or 9-4). Shared field 5/6B has 8 teams (4 games). 5/6B from 8-3. U10G has 22 teams. 16 teams (8 games) on field 7B and 6 teams (3 games) on shared field 5/6B from 8-3. All games start on the hour. On fields 10A and 10B, the goals will be pre-assembled and at the field. Sand bags are at the field in the container located by the fence between field 9 & 10. Antonio will almost always use the goals on Field 10 for the Patriots travel games, so there will be no take down. On fields 7B and 5/6B, Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game (8:00 game) and take them down and return to field house after last game (4:00). The goals are secured with sand bags. One bag at the rear of each bottom support.

U12C has 20 teams. 10 teams (5 games) on field 11B from 8:30-4, 10 teams 5 games on field 1/2C from 8:30 to 4:00. On 11B, you will use the free standing Parks Department full size goals. Just move into place. No sand bags needed. On field 1/2C, Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game (8:00 game) and take them down and return to field house after last game (4:00). The goals are secured with sand bags. One bag at the rear of each bottom support.

U12G has 12 teams (6 games) on field 11A. Will use the free standing Parks Department full size goals.

U14C has 10 teams (5 games) on field 8. (8:30 to 4:00) Will use the free standing Parks Department full size goals.

U14G has 8 teams, the first games on field 7A. (9:00 to 3:00) On field 7A, Parents pick up and assemble goals for first game (8:00 game) and take them down and return to field house after last game (4:00). The goals are secured with sand bags. One bag at the rear of each bottom support.

The coach's job is to get the team ready to play. It is dangerous for the coach to assemble the goals when the team is around him or her. He or she should not be near goals assembly. The coach must delegate this job to a parent to be in charge of getting parents to do this. Parents should also check the field for dangerous objects. The coach and referee must make sure that the goals are secured properly before play is started. A goal falling on a child can cause serious injury or death. Coaches that have the last game of the day should know that their teams have to take down the goals if so indicated above. All too many times goals are left at the field. Lastly, dogs, bicycles and strollers are not allowed on the field. If parents and players bike to the field, bikes should be locked up OUTSIDE the field. It is dangerous to have hard objects next to the field.

The coach and referee must make sure that the goals are secured properly before play is started. A goal falling on a child can cause serious injury or death. Lastly, dogs, bicycles and strollers are not allowed on the field.If parents and players bike to the field, bikes should be locked up OUTSIDE the field. It is dangerous to have hard objects next to the field.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Players should wear shin guards and bring a bottle of water and a soccer ball. All players must wear shin guards! They will not be allowed to play without them. Uniform socks must be worn over shin guards. Players should also wear their uniform jerseys and shorts. AYSO rules: players may not play with blood on their uniforms. If the weather is chilly, kids may wear sweatpants, long johns, long-sleeved t-shirts, etc UNDER - not over - their uniforms.

Earrings, watches, bracelets, hair clips, hair beads, and other hard objects must be removed before games to prevent injury. Soccer cleats are recommended but not required.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

BrooklynAYSO.org will feature up-to-the-minute news regarding rain cancellations. There is also a rain cancellation hotline: (718) 233-3733.

If an electrical storm comes up during play, please clear the fields immediately. Goals must be taken down at that time.

The kids are the focus of the AYSO program, and the success of the program depends on the efforts of everyone involved. Please read this, print it, sign, and give to the coach (and keep a copy).

Please notify your division coordinator immediately if you are having problems with a parent or other coach. Check the CONTACTS page for your Division Coordinator's name and contact information.

TIPS - Walk the field prior to each practice/game to check for glass, rocks, sticks, and other objects that could cause injury. - No dogs and no smoking within the playing field area! - Pick up all garbage! - Bikes must be chained up OUTSIDE of the playing field area.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ITEMS UNATTENDED. THIEVES WANDER THE FIELDS.
