With sufficient pre-registration the following courses will be held in readiness for the coming season. Please register as soon as possible. Remember, you must be there from the beginning to the end of the course to receive certification.
Children deserve a safe, fair and fun environment in which to play sports. They also deserve an environment that promotes their physical, psychological and emotional well-being. These are objectives that AYSO uses to create a quality youth soccer program. We, as coaches, are responsible for providing our children with this safe, fair, fun and positive environment in which to play.
In addition, volunteers need an awareness of the levels of risk, protection issues and procedures that are required for AYSO to accept any liability for us. With this in mind AYSO has mandated that all coaches must take the Safe Haven Course before assuming coaching responsibilities. You do not need to take the course more than one time, however you must attend the whole session.
COACH SAFE HAVEN COURSE
Thursday, October 4th, 2007. Time 6:30 p.m. for 3 hours. Maximum 25 participants
Courses will be held at 302 Park Place bet Vanderbilt and Underhill Aves. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday, September 8th, 2007 Time 9:30 a.m. for 3 hours. Meet at the concession stand, Parade Grounds. Bring a chair and weather protection.
Follow these instructions to add yourself as a Volunteer
1.Go to www.eayso.org
2.Sign up with your legal name and register with eayso.org, obtain a log-in id.
3.Log in again after that process is finished and “Add a Volunteer”
4.Fill in the blank pages with your information (use legal name). We are Region 473.
5.Complete professional and personal references.
6.Print out 3 volunteer forms.
7.Bring 2 copies of the forms along with a government photo-id to the Safe Haven course for verification of your id.
8.The Instructor will give the forms to the Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate

SOCCER SKILLS COURSES
Courses where you learn
1. How to set up and conduct a training session
2. Age-appropriate capabilities
3. Developmentally appropriate techniques
4. Activities and games for the age group
U-6 Skills Course – Sat, Sept 8th,1:30 p.m. for 2 hours
U-8 Skills Course – Sat, Sept 15th, 4 p.m. for 2 hours
U-10/U-12/U-14 Skills Course – Sunday, Sept 23rd,9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., bring lunch in addition (see below). This course is combined for these age-groups, advanced courses will be given with sufficient interest.
For all skills courses bring a ball, shinguards, pen, water, and weather protection. Meet at the Concession stand in the center of the Parade Grounds.
