With sufficient pre-registration the following courses will be held for coach skill development and as a prerequisite for the upcoming coach instructor course at the Section Meeting on February 1-4, 2007. Please register as soon as possible. Remember, you must be there from the beginning to the end of the course to receive certification.
Children deserve an environment that promotes their physical, psychological and emotional well-being. These are objectives that AYSO uses to create a quality, developmental, youth soccer program. We, as coaches, are responsible for providing our children with this safe, fair, fun and positive environment in which to play so come and further your coaching abilities.
U-12 SOCCER SKILLS COURSES - LEAD BY CLARK KEE
Course where you learn knowledge, skills and activities developmentally appropriate to the age group you are coaching. Coaches in U-10 and U-12 can take the U-12 course. There are no prerequisites for this class.
Saturday, January 20 - U-12 Soccer Skills 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Automotive High School, 50 Bedford Ave, (at intersection of Nassau and Lorimer Sts), Brooklyn, 11222. The B61 bus, G and L trains are close by. Go to www.hopstop.com for detailed directions. Bring a ball, lunch, water, and a pen.
Sunday, January 21 - U-12 Soccer Skills 12- 5 p.m. PS 9, 100 W 84th Street (corner of Columbus Ave), Manhattan, 10024. Bring a ball, lunch, water, and a pen. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIME WILL BE CONFIRMED AT A LATER DATE.
The courses can only accommodate 20 participants each session so please register BY January 18th by calling 718 857-7633, or email dengordon@aol.com (email preferred).
COACH INSTRUCTOR COURSE - LEAD BY JOHN OULLETTE
If you are interested in the coach instructor course (Thursday, Feb 1, 6-9 p.m. and Friday, Feb 2, 8:00 a.m. - noon) let me know and I will give you directions on registration. Speak to your region about the $35 fee for the instructor course and overnight accommodation. (Region 473 has agreed to pay). Go to www.soccer.org for more Section Meeting information.
