Safety Information
September 1, 2025
Hello Fall 2025 Brooklyn AYSO Parents, Players, and Volunteers,
I'd like to remind all Brooklyn AYSO participants of the basic Regional Safety Rules:
Players will not be allowed to play in a game if they are wearing anything that is harmful to themselves or to any other player on the field. This includes, but is not limited to, hard splints, casts, soft casts with rigid bracing, metal bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, nose jewelry (including tiny nose piercings), wristwatches, fitness trackers, and hair beads, hair barrettes, and hard hair bands. Using tape to cover jewelry is not permitted. Medical alert bracelets and necklaces and religious emblems may be worn, provided they are under clothing or secured to the body. Medically mandated monitors may be worn with prior permission of the Regional Safety Director.
Coaches, Referees or Team Managers should fill out an AYSO Incident Report Form for any incident that occurs before, during, and after your game. This is especially important for injuries, even if they appear minor, as well as fights, incidents of major dissent, and calls to the police. These reports should be filled out and forwarded to the Regional Safety Director. Copies are available in the Brooklyn AYSO website here: http://go.brooklynayso.org/incidentreportform
Parade Grounds rules state: "Dogs are not allowed on the athletic fields." This includes the sideline areas and seating areas where parents and other spectators watch our games.
Bicycles may not be ridden on or across the fields, and bicycles should be parked outside the field areas.
First Aid Kits, ice packs, and AED machines will be available for all Fall 2025 Brooklyn AYSO fields. They can be found in the gray safety carts next to the Kids Zone signs.
Players must have their team jerseys visible at all times. If it's cold, the jersey should be worn over whatever warm clothing they're wearing.
Everyone standing or sitting on the sidelines -- including coaches, substitute players, and all spectators -- must respect the touchlines (sidelines) on each field. Most fields have a dotted line about 1 yard from the touchlines, and everyone should remain behind that line during games.
Thank you for helping keep our soccer games safe, fair, and fun.
Regards,
Jim Keenley
