What equipment is provided/needed?

  • Players will receive a jersey, shorts, and socks.

  • Players must bring and wear shin guards. It’s recommended that they bring a ball and a water bottle.

  • Turf shoes/athletic sneakers are best as the games are played on turf.

Attendance Policy:

  • Players who do not attend the first 2 games of the season will automatically have registration canceled and their spot will be given to a waitlisted player.

  • Players who miss more than 3 games may not be allowed to register in subsequent seasons.

  • Players who drop without a medical note after taking a uniform/playing in a game may not be allowed to register in subsequent seasons.

  • If you know you will miss a game, you must email your coach and CC registration@brooklynayso.org.

A few things to remember:

  • New teams are formed each season. Do not request specific coaches and teammates, and please do not promise your child that they will play with specific friends or coaches. The only guaranteed team placements are for siblings in the same division, and coaches/asst coaches who will be placed with their children. See below on how to volunteer!

  • Players will receive their team assignments and game schedules roughly the week before opening day. You will receive an email from coaches and/or division coordinators.

  • We are an all-volunteer organization and need your help!! Consider volunteering as an administrator, referee, or coach for your child's team. There's no experience necessary, and training and resources will be provided!! Click here to learn more.

Scholarships

AYSO Region 473 designates a certain amount of funds each season toward our Scholarship Fund, which are available to help parents and guardians in circumstances where they cannot pay the full registration fee.

Scholarships are distributed on a first come, first served basis, and are awarded based on financial need. All scholarships are based on the availability of funds. A scholarship does not guarantee a space on a team if divisions are already full. Scholarships are for one season only and families must reapply each season.

To apply for a seasonal scholarship, the parent or guardian must:

1. Add the child(ren) under their Family Profile at https://inleague.brooklynayso.org/, but DO NOT PAY.
2. Submit the Scholarship Application. One application per family.
3. If approved for a scholarship, you will be notified via email with next steps.

Active Duty Military Discount

Brooklyn AYSO 473 offers a 20% season fee reimbursement to active duty military members.

1. Register the child(ren) at https://inleague.brooklynayso.org/ and pay the registration fees.
2. Email the full name(s) of the child(ren)to registrar@brooklynayso.org or send your request for the discount from your .mil email address.
3. Upon receipt of your player registration and your proof of active duty, the Registrar will apply the 20% Military Discount to your account and issue a refund via your original payment method.
